The Story of Sonic Lost World: To rule the world itself wants to use the forces of Dr. Eggman six powerful creatures. But the Six Terrible rise up against their masters, and the villainous scientist must perforce join forces with his arch-nemesis Sonic. Only together can they defeat the fearsome enemies. Sonic relies on some completely new racing characteristics and color energies. He sprints, jumps and dashes through a variety of new worlds to give the Terrible Six-one to twelve.

With the Wii U GamePad, players can activate exclusive color energies - among other things, by aiming with the controller, tilt it or use the touch screen. The entire game can be completely without television, alone on the screen of the Wii U GamePads play. It also provides a cooperative mode in which a player may support another. The Nintendo 3DS version shines with exclusive bonus levels and color energies.
